ProcessTaskView - Help file
Modern Task Manager in Windows 11 style with processes, performance, startup apps, services and network connections

ProcessTaskView shows you at a glance what is running on your PC. If you like, the program replaces the Windows Task Manager and additionally offers a connections overview for all TCP and UDP connections, as you would otherwise only know from specialized tools.

Processes
All running programs are grouped into Apps, Background processes and Windows processes and can be expanded and collapsed. The columns for CPU, memory, disk and network are colored as a heatmap, so you can spot resource hogs immediately. The context menu offers the familiar functions such as End task, Resource values (percent or values), Efficiency mode, Debug, Create memory dump, Priority and Processor affinity, as well as "Show connections".

Performance
Charts for CPU, memory, disk, network and GPU. With a right-click you can change the graph, show kernel times, switch to the graph overview view, adjust the view or copy the values.

App history, Startup apps, Users, Details and Services
The app history shows the resource usage of apps over time. Under Startup apps you manage entries from the registry, the startup folder and Store apps. The Users, Details and Services pages let you manage signed-in users, individual processes and Windows services.

Connections
All TCP and UDP connections with process, local and remote address, ports and state. Host names are resolved in the background. With "Show connections" in the context menu of a process you filter the list to that process. Administrator rights are required for complete information.

•Usage

Select the desired page in the navigation on the left.
You can change the width of all table columns by dragging the separator line in the column header with the mouse.
Right-click an entry to open the context menu with the available actions.
With "Run new task" you start programs; optionally ProcessTaskView is minimized afterwards.

•Settings

The settings are saved in the file settings.ini in the program folder. If it is not writable, %LOCALAPPDATA%\ProcessTaskView\settings is used.
