HDCleaner - Complete Cleaning for Your Windows PC
Is your computer too slow? Over time, a PC accumulates a multitude of unwanted files and information that not only consume storage space, but also slow down the system and provide information about user behavior. HDCleaner cleans these files and speeds up the computer in no time. Optimized for use with solid-state drives (SSD) and hard disk drives (HDD).
Important Settings for Browser Cleaner
To prevent important cookies (banking, LastPass, website logins, etc.) from being deleted, open 'Clean', 'Manage Cookies', locate the desired cookie in the 'Delete Cookies' section, then right-click and select 'Keep Cookie'. The desired cookie is now in the 'Keep Cookies' section and will be excluded from the cleaning process. To prevent saved passwords from being deleted, uncheck 'Delete Saved Passwords'. If you have set your browser to restore your last session, you should uncheck 'Saved form information' and 'Session'.
Forensic Data Recovery
To prevent your deleted data from being rendered readable with forensic or specialized recovery software, we recommend that you select 'Destroy forensic traces after cleaning...' after completing the cleaning process.
1) Enable Delete paging file on shutdown
2) Disable Windows Search and 'Clean up residual traces in indexing service'
3) Enable Destroy USN journal traces
4) Enable Destroy Cluster Tips
5) Enable Overwrite Free Space
6) Enable Destroy MFT traces.

Faster Startup
Prevent unnecessary programs from starting when your computer boots up. When you start your computer, it's not just Windows that loads. All of these automatically opening programs consume system memory and can slow down performance. Fortunately, managing startup programs isn't difficult with HDCleaner.
Uninstall programs you don't use; they only slow down your computer. This frees up memory and saves resources. All associated files, settings, and registry entries are also removed.
Clean and Optimize the Registry
The registry contains all the information about your PC settings, software, and hardware. Incorrect file paths, corrupted entries, and other types of errors slow down your computer. Registry Cleaner searches for and fixes various registry problems such as invalid shortcuts, incorrect paths, corrupted ActiveX and COM entries, CLSID values, Explorer extensions, BHOs (Browser Helper Objects), and other types of corrupted and outdated data.
If the registry is corrupted, it can lead to system errors and render the system unusable, requiring a reinstallation. Therefore, it's important to always have a backup of the registry so you can restore your system at any time if something goes wrong. HDCleaner helps you back up and restore the registry.
Search the registry, find the desired registry values that match the specified search criteria, and display them in a list. Once you've located the registry values, you can easily navigate to the correct value in RegEdit by double-clicking the desired registry item. You can also export or delete the found registry keys and values.
Defragment the Registry - Analyze and optimize the registry database. HDCleaner scans and optimizes the Windows registry by removing errors, gaps, and free space, thereby improving computer speed.
Find and Remove Duplicate Files - Find and remove duplicate files on your computer. The fast search algorithm finds duplicates of any file type, such as text, images, music, or movies.
DirToHTML is a directory-to-HTML index converter that creates an HTML index file from directory structures and files on your computer. The file list can contain subfolders, a single folder, or entire drives.
DiskDoctor checks a volume's file system and file system metadata for logical and physical errors.
Create and edit system restore points - Restore points are created to allow users to restore the previous system state. Each restore point contains the information needed to restore the system to the selected state. Restore points are created before key changes are made to the system.
Delete files and folders, overwrite free space, and erase entire partitions or entire drives using pseudorandom data or the secure erasure algorithms US DoD 5220.22-M (8-306. / E), US DoD 5220.22-M (8-306. / E, C, and E), Schneier's 7-pass, or Gutmann 35-pass.
With the file splitter, you can split a large file into smaller pieces and then reassemble them.
Encrypt and decrypt files using the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES), also known by its original name, the Rijndael encryption algorithm.
Detect and analyze Alternate Data Streams (ADS).
Securely erase entire hard drives.
Securely erase entire SSDs (SECURE ERASE) without destroying them and reset them to factory default settings.
Automatically optimize memory and increase RAM.

After the analysis, you can list the objects to be deleted under Details and select/deselect results individually using the checkboxes to then start the cleaning process.
To display the cleanup wizard, click 'Show cleanup wizard'.
Enabling the TRIM command for SSDs increases PC speed. The operating system uses the TRIM command to inform an SSD which data has been deleted. The disk then empties the memory cells when idle. There is no need to explicitly empty the memory cells before a future write operation.
Data Destruction
Set the deletion options in the Options dialog box.
Permanently delete files
All selected files and folders will be deleted according to international standards, making the deleted data on the storage device irretrievable.
Overwrite free space on partition
No existing files or data will be deleted; only the areas marked as free on the hard drive will be overwritten, making them irretrievable. Specify the deletion method under 'Options'.
Overwrite ALL data on the partition
All files and data on the partition will be deleted, making them irretrievable! After deletion, you must reformat the partition to use it. Specify the deletion method under 'Options'.
SECURE ERASE of storage devices (SSD, hard drive, flash drive, etc.)
SECURE ERASE deletes all data on an SSD and marks the cells as empty. This resets the SSD to factory settings and peak performance, and it only takes a few seconds.
A hard drive wipe deletes all data on the hard drive. This can take several hours. NOTE: The data cannot be recovered! After deleting all partitions, you must recreate at least one partition and THEN format it.
System
Uninstaller - Remove Programs
The uninstaller removes unnecessary software, apps, and optional features from your computer, freeing up additional storage space on the drive.
Startup Programs
Optimize Windows startup. Disable programs that run automatically when you boot or log in.
System Restore
A system restore restores your system settings to an earlier point in time. Your files are neither deleted nor changed.
Browser Helper Objects (BHO)
Browser Helper Objects (BHO) are computer programs that extend the functionality of your browser. Remove or disable unnecessary or dubious BHOs.
System Information
The system diagnostic tool displays all relevant system parameters and software information.
Hardware Information

AES - Encrypt Files
Encrypt your sensitive data with 256-bit AES encryption.
File Splitter
Splits large files into several smaller pieces so they fit on storage devices with limited storage space, such as CDs or floppy disks.
ADS Scanner
ADS Scanner scans NTFS drives to detect alternate data streams. This is an NTFS technology that allows malware or other applications to hide files and data from Explorer and other file management programs. Recent browser hijackers have used ADS to hide their files, and few anti-malware scanners detect this. Use ADS Scanner to search for and remove these streams.
Rename Files
Rename multiple files at once, e.g., remove any characters or replace text...
Registry
Search the Registry
Quickly and precisely search the Registry using detailed search options. All results are clearly displayed in a list and can be sorted, deleted, or exported as desired.
Backup and Restore the Windows Registry
The Windows Registry is the foundation for the entire Windows configuration. It is a hierarchically structured database that contains everything relevant to the smooth operation of your computer.
Defragment the Registry
Reorganizes your Registry to prevent database problems. This not only saves storage space but also results in faster access times, thus enabling faster work overall.
Monitoring
Maximum performance through live tuning and automatic disk space cleanup
With HDCleaner, you can set up automatic monitoring and cleaning of your Internet browsers when you close them, as well as automatic disk space cleanup of your PC.
Live Tuner changes the process priorities of individual applications to speed up their startup.
Monitor autorun entries in real time. If a program enters the autorun routine, you will be notified.
Automatic memory optimization with or without notification. (Time period adjustable under Options)
System Monitoring cleans your PC when a specified threshold is reached (time period adjustable under Options)
Browser Monitoring monitors your browsers and can automatically clean browser files and settings when you close the browser, or ask you if you want to run a cleanup.
If you enable automatic monitoring, an icon will appear in the system tray.
Backup Center
Before changes are made to your system, a backup of deleted items is created upon request. This allows you to easily restore them in the event of problems.
HDCleaner can create backups for the following modules:
Registry Cleaner, Remove Unnecessary Files, Autorun Manager, Scan Registry, and PluginCleaner (registry entries only).
You can easily restore these backups if necessary.
To do this, select the backup you want to restore and click 'Restore' to restore the entire backup. Click 'Open' to restore individual items, or click 'Delete' to delete the backup to the Recycle Bin.
Clone
Clone Hard Drive or SSD
This process copies the entire contents of one hard drive to another to create two identical drives with the same file structure, effectively copying all the contents of one hard drive to another. This process allows you to transfer all data (including the operating system and installed programs) from one hard drive to another without having to reinstall and configure all your software.
To do this, select the source and destination disks and then click 'Start'.
Please note that starting the clone process will delete all data on the destination disk and cannot be recovered.

About HDCleaner INI Files:
INI files must be saved in Unicode format. Duplicate plugin names cause the program to crash.
Additional INI files must be located in the application's installation folder (usually C:\Program Files\HDCleaner).
Winapp2.ini allows you to add entries for new software that HDCleaner can clean.
In Winapp1.ini, any applications you list there replace the default applications on the Applications tab.
In Winsys1.ini, any entries listed there replace the default applications on the Windows tab.
When the application is first installed, no INI files are present by default.

Cookies
A cookie is a small text file that a web server stores on a user's computer via the browser. It contains information about a website visit, such as the duration of the visit, which page was visited, or the visitor's input.
Online shops use cookies to create a virtual shopping cart into which the customer places their items. Customers can still browse the store for products at any time. In these cases, the use of cookies saves time and money. Cookies also make it possible to log a user's usage habits and create user profiles.
When you run the cleanup, HDCleaner deletes all cookies for all your web browsers (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Opera, etc.) by default, except for those in the 'Keep cookies' column, which is located in 'Manage cookies...'.
To save specific cookies on your PC:
In 'Cleanup', click 'Manage Cookies...'. Select the cookies you want to keep, then right-click 'Keep Cookies'.
